There is a $25 processing fee, in addition to any accrued statutory interest, for each check that is returned by the taxpayer’s bank for any reason.
- The returned-check processing fee must be submitted in person at the Treasurer’s Office or by mail to:

- Payment of the returned-check processing fee must be submitted separate from any subsequent payment of the taxes and any applicable late payment statutory interest. (The returned-check processing fee cannot be combined with the tax-and-interest due on the same check.)
Written notices are mailed to the maker of any check returned by a bank for any reason. The original returned check is the property of the Williamson County Treasurer’s Office. Copies of the returned check are available only upon request in person at the Williamson County Treasurer’s Office, 407 N. Monroe, Suite 104, Marion, IL 62959.
